Alcantara-Joaquino-Alcantara Law, also known as AJA Law, partnered with the Center for Art, New Ventures and Sustainable Development for an outreach event marking their fifth anniversary. This is the third year in a row that we’ve teamed up for a book-giving event, and this year, we visited Bahay Aruga, a halfway house for pediatric cancer patients.

In 2024, Kapampangan Manlakaran distributed CANVAS hardbound books to 17 community libraries in Pampanga, La Union, Nueva Ecija, Isabela, and Camarines Sur.

The Literacy, Empowerment, and Progress (LEAP) Project is a reading program for Banago Elementary School 1’s identified frustrated learners. These kinds of learners are behind on reading skills that are expected at their grade level. To aid the reading program, CANVAS donated 25 books for their Grade 3 pupils with a shared goal—to create a positive reading culture and experience for kids.

186 copies of Karapat Dapat and a set of hardbound books for the library were given to the local day care and Sta. Monica elementary school.

Thirty kids from Kanlungan sa Er-Ma Ministry were treated with a special day in Jollibee Vito Cruz! Group Blue Whale of Pedya Kamp organized a Christmas mask coloring activity, games, and food-filled event.

Gabaldon Elementary School held a book giving event for their celebration of National Children’s Month and National Reading Month. To tie these two events together, they distributed Karapat Dapat, our book on children’s rights, to 250 learners.

Artist Abi Dionisio, a Bulacan native, gives back to her hometown by donating her book with CANVAS, BABAE! 18 Fierce and Fearless Filipinas.

Girl Scouts of the Philippines (GSP) launched is year-long literacy program called Every Girl Scout, a Storyteller this year to encourage a love for reading and storytelling among its members and communities. They distributed books across six regions of the country to 96 councils.

The Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay Jalavera put together Jalavera Learning Camp 2.0, a program that comprised of academic tutorial services, food distribution, and gift giveaways. The chosen beneficiaries for this learning camp were students from Jalavera Elementary School and Instituto Maria Immacolata.
